ILAM -- Head of Iraq's Red Crescent Society Jamal Karroubi on Saturday expressed appreciation for humanitarian aid sent to his country by Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey, IRNA reported.

The Saudi-based Voice of Iraq quoted Karroubi as saying that a delegation of Iraq's Red Crescent Society is scheduled to visit these four countries from September 18.

"Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey supported the Iraqi people during the war as well as the country's post-war developments through extensive medical and pharmaceutical relief aid," he said.

The delegation is to ask for more medical and pharmaceutical assistance in order to reconstruct Iraq's hospitals and medical centers.
